Our Expertise
From holistic and sustainable townships to innovative public infrastructure solutions, our expertise grows along with the needs of the industry.
Explore one of our three competency pillars below.
A Legacy of Digital Solutions
Gamuda’s digital transformation journey began five decades ago, in 1976, with our vision – “Leading the region in breakthrough solutions”. Our early digital adoption was exemplified during the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) project, a pioneering climate mitigation initiative.
Four Pillars of Digital
Digital Engineering Governance
Unifying and improving our technology landscape
Digital Community
A community of like-minded staff to support and collaborate
Data Excellence
Improving collection, management and innovation of data across the Group
Digital Empowerment
Empowering our employees to build solutions through our Data Hero programme

We remain at the forefront of construction designs using the latest technology and tools managed in-house. These include the Autodesk Construction Cloud, Next-Gen Digital Industrialised Building System (IBS), 4D and 5D Building Information Modelling (BIM).
We also incorporate cutting-edge technologies across our regional operations. This includes DT Infrastructure's proficiency in offering digital engineering services.
Our Gamuda Green Plan 2025 digitalises our processes, enabling us to measure our impacts with digital design tools and robotic construction. With that, we have achieved greater efficiency, precision and accuracy, cost savings, and improved project outcomes.
Integrating Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) throughout our engineering processes has broken down the barriers of people operating in silos. The unified platform allows seamless collaboration between multidisciplinary and regional teams, faster project completion time, keeping within budget, and meeting global standards.
Transitioning from paper records to a more efficient digital workflow with data capture capabilities offers better transparency for internal and external stakeholders. Its implementation also lets us track environmental and carbon impacts to meet our Gamuda Green Plan 2025 targets.
Further streamlining our operations by harnessing the power of Google Cloud is another crucial step in transforming the construction industry. Google Cloud provides access to enterprise-grade generative AI tools. This integration empowers our workforce to develop innovative, custom AI solutions, enhancing our data analysis, decision-making, and overall project delivery.
We launched the Gamuda AI Academy to provide world-class training, industry-leading technology, and unparalleled mentorship to help Malaysians master full stack AI. Our purpose is to forge a new generation of skilled professionals and AI innovators in one course. With this, Gamuda takes another step towards bridging the AI talent gap in line with the national digital transformation roadmap.
Gamuda’s Next-Gen Digital IBS is the future of residential, commercial and infrastructure construction. From cloud design, BIM integration, robotic automation and production – this full suite of digital solutions delivers design flexibility, fast construction and superior quality finish. Importantly, the Next-Gen Digital IBS is all about sustainability. Our Next-Gen Digital IBS factories in Banting and Sepang, Selangor, are renewable energy-powered with rooftop solar panels powering the in-built AI-IoT and its robots.
Our factories have the largest manufacturing capacity in Malaysia. Gamuda is ramping up its production capacity to support its data centre project wins – AIMS Cyberjaya Block 2 (completed within 8 months in January 2024) as well as the upcoming AIMS Cyberjaya Block 3 and hyperscale data centre to be built by Gamuda in Sime Darby Property Bhd’s Elmina Business Park. The Next-Gen Digital IBS is already a mainstay in developing Gamuda Land townships, capable of producing 10,000 homes per annum.

BIM combines technology with a set of work processes that involve designing on one unified system of virtual models, rather than separate sets of drawings. This allows better collaboration and risk mitigation, leading to cost-savings and increased productivity.
We have even developed our own augmented reality platform, BIMAR – an augmented reality application that overlays virtual design and construction elements with real-time worksite images. BIMAR app allows us to virtually visit a site with clients before construction begins, so we can rectify any issues early on. Along with various cloud-enabled functions which allow direct reporting from the field, BIMAR is scalable and customisable to facilitate large-scale roll-out across mega infrastructure projects in a short time.
Taking this innovation further, our 3D Laser Scan-BIM Method (a first in Southeast Asia) led to significant reduction in the legwork, human error, and safety concerns by unlocking the three-dimensional visualisation of project information that was previously unattainable. This method will transform rail construction and be a turning point on the over reliance on manual labour and low project visualisations.
The first main contractor in Malaysia to receive the prestigious BSI (British Standard Institution) Kitemark™ certificate for Design, Construction and Commissioning. The certification recognises our milestone in digital construction. It demonstrates our excellent compliance with the global ISO 19650 standards in implementing BIM for construction.
