Advocating safe work environment
Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (QSHE) are top priorities in our operations. Safeguarding our employees, contractors, customers, suppliers, local communities, and other stakeholders is a part of who we are and what we do every day.
We are steered by a robust Integrated Management System (IMS), which includes our OSH Management System. Through continuous management, monitoring and improvement of the Group’s performance where we strive to achieve zero fatalities.

Constant innovation and upskilling of our workforce won us the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards, Builder of the Year 2016. We won the National Occupational Safety and Health Award, Construction Category 2022.
Our robust business continuity and crisis management plan also ensures that we maintain our operations and business resilience over the long-term, while providing the highest level of protection to our workforce. This was reflected in our COVID-19 pandemic preparedness. Meanwhile, Gamuda Clinic continues to offer employees and the public affordable outpatient medical services, including vaccination. The introduction of centralised labour quarters (CLQ) for the foreign workers employed by our contractors for our projects sets a new industry standard. The CLQ are complete with facilities for their welfare, medical, recreational and religious needs to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Gamuda also benchmarks its OSH performance against best practices in our countries of operation:

We have rolled out the Enabling Work programme, placing people at the centre of how we work and giving everyone a voice in how we tackle challenges. Teamwork actively breaks down silos and enables great work, providing everyone with a level of autonomy, as well as the discretion to be safe in everything they do. Safe, responsible, and effective work is more than just than ‘ticking boxes’ and ‘following legislation’; it’s an ethical responsibility shared by everyone at Gamuda.
