CIDB certifies the Gamuda Construction Safety and Health Passport
05 Feb 2018 |

Another milestone achieved!

All construction personnel who possess the Gamuda Construction Safety and Health Passport (GCSP) are now automatically registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).

Centred on safety, risk control, incident prevention and environmental care at the work site, the GCSP holder doesn’t need to undergo CIDB’s Safety and Health Induction Course for Construction Workers and is only required to sit through a refresher course once every three years.

Accrediting the GCSP at the inaugural QSHE in Construction Seminar 2018 held last week at Kota Permai Golf and Country Club, CIDB Senior General Manager (Contractor and Personnel Development) Mohd Nazli Ahmad Mahyadin pointed out that the construction industry was known for its higher fatality rate, poor housekeeping and other non-conducive practices, and this could lead to greater problems if not addressed.

Over 100 Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) experts and supply chain contractors attended the seminar.

Officiating the event, Occupational Safety and Health Department (DOSH) Deputy Director General Ir. Haji Omar Mat Piah commended Gamuda for its stringent OSH practices, and called on us to continue setting a good example for others to follow.
