Maxis extends home fibre network to Gamuda Land’s twentyfive.7 residents
Residents of Gamuda Land’s twentyfive.7, an integrated mixed development in heart of Kota Kemuning, will enjoy a customised home fibre plan with speeds of up to 300Mbps through a service agreement signed between Gamuda Land Sdn Bhd and Maxis Bhd today.
The agreement will see the provision and deployment of network infrastructure and services to twentyfive.7, one of Gamuda Land’s key township developments.
Maxis Chief Executive Officer Robert Nason said the agreement was part of Maxis’ ongoing co-investments with property developers in the country to provide high-speed broadband connectivity to homes through its own fibre network.
“We will continue to invest in accessing available fibre networks in Malaysia. Beyond connectivity, we look forward to working with Gamuda Land in the longer-term on co-creation initiatives, as well as providing solutions that can power up not just individual homes but entire communities,” he told a press conference after the signing ceremony.
Meanwhile, Gamuda Land Chief Executive Officer Ngan Chee Meng said the company emphasised on implementing the right facilities and technology that would support both physical and virtual connectivity throughout all its master plan design and architectural construction.
“Gamuda Land’s town-making principle encompasses mindful planning to provide the right infrastructure and connectivity in advance to enhance community’s quality of life,” he said.
Under the agreement, each of the 279 units of landed homes in Phase 1A and 1B and 596 units of The Amber Residence in twentyfive.7 will be equipped with a customised MaxisONE Home Fibre plan with speeds of up to 300Mbps.
Courtesy of Gamuda Land, the customised fibre plan will come with unlimited iFlix access at home and mobile, unlimited free domestic calls to all mobile and landlines and a DECT phone, will be free for residents for two years from the time it is activated.
twentyfive.7 is a 257-acre integrated mixed development township with a RM4.2 billion gross development value and comprises first-of-its-kind multi-facade landed homes and high rise service apartments, namely The Amber Residence and the Quayside Mall.
The landed homes of Phase 1A and 1B is expected to be completed by 2020 and The Amber Residence serviced apartments by 2021.
On Maxis’ wish list for the 2019 Budget to be tabled in Parliament on Friday, Nason said the company was looking for an investment certainty as the telecommunications service provider made significant investments to build network infrastructure.
“We hope the budget will provide some certainty going into the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ngan hoped the issue of building affordable homes by private-sector developers would be given importance in the budget with more incentives needed to promote “green” development in housing projects.
