The management of Gamuda Berhad (Gamuda) has defined and formalised the following mandate pertaining to
the project handling of public relations and stakeholder management. The project specific division {Project) will
undertake to ensure that this Policy is adopted to achieve our objectives, deal with challenges and develop our
people towards realising Gamuda’s goals.
Through the rigour of the discipline of public relations and stakeholder management, we seek to embed a
proactive, forward-looking approach to public perception, stakeholder engagement and related risk
management.
Every Project employee is responsible for ensuring that the intentions of this policy statement are understood,
applied and maintained within their capacity, in addition to actively supporting and promoting this Policy to all
parties concerned.
We are committed to the following ethos:
- To take a proactive stance in considering and minimising the impact of project works on the surrounding
community, public, relevant internal and external stakeholders and to design all efforts and
engagements towards stakeholder management with empathy and humility. - To work collaboratively with the project employer I owner and all relevant stakeholders invested in the
development of the Project, whilst ensuring the project reputation is managed well. - To ensure matters relating to stakeholders are addressed in a timely manner while issues and crises are
attended to with the utmost expediency to prevent further escalation or complications. - To adopt principles of transparency, accountability and integrity in conveying relevant information to
both stakeholders and the public at large without prejudice, while always promoting inclusive
community participation. - To ensure consistency in the delivery of our commitments, including proactive measures to notify or
follow-up with related stakeholders at appropriate intervals. - To establish a two-way culture of trust and credibility between the project organisation and external
parties that will promote an amicable relationship throughout the administration of the project. - To ensure that we adopt the global Environment Social Governance (ESG) principles and va lues,
together with Group’s Gamuda Green Plan in managing all aspects of public relations and stakeholder
management.
This over-arching philosophy towards public relations and stakeholder management demonstrates the deepheld
collective commitment of the organisation and a strong social consciousness to uphold stakeholders and
public interests throughout the Project cycle and for a successful delivery of the Project.
