Gamuda Bhd is ready to provide support to property developers and the government with the company’s digital robotic industrialised building system (IBS) technology to build and deliver new affordable homes for Malaysia in line with the new National Housing Policy.

Commenting on the launch of the National Housing Policy yesterday, the company’s deputy managing director Mohammed Rashdan Yusof said with its current two digital robotic IBS plants, Gamuda is can deliver 10,000 fully functional homes per annum, which can then be assembled and installed to the specifications of any developer.

“With full Digital BIM technology, costs and wastage are minimised and yet artistic creativity can flourish with maximum delivery efficiency. It is so efficient that a multi-storey, high-rise apartment block can be built at half the time compared to normal construction methods, saving at least one whole year,” he added.

He added that its digital robotic IBS technology could assist the Government in achieving the vision of building another 200,000 affordable homes from now to end-2020.
