Taking a peek at developer’s nature-themed township

A LION dance, do-it-yourself candy puppets and magic show were some of the entertainment lined up for visitors at the grand launch of the Gamuda Cove Experiental Gallery in Subang Jaya.

Located in Tanjung 12, Kuala Langat, the masterplan for the 620ha leasehold township was brought nearer to potential buyers, making it easier for visits, said Gamuda Land chief executive officer Ngan Chee Meng.

Giving a sneak preview of the nature-themed project that will have the Kuala Langat Forest Reserve and Paya Indah Wetlands as its neighbours, Ngan said safety aspects would take top priority in its design.

Citing street layout as a case in point, Ngan said streets fronting homes would end in a cul-de-sac instead of the traditional barracks system where end houses often faced backlanes and were potential targets for crime.

The gated-and-guarded home units will also have shrubbery between pedestrian walkways and the street to act as safety buffers.

Touching on the finer details of quality construction for its homes, Ngan said no attention would be spared in finishings such as floor tiles, for example, where the layers would be set at a standard three millimetre gap in between so they would not pop up.

The township, which boasts an adventure park offering hot air balloon rides and sports facilities, will have five lakes to make up its lush green landscape. Monthly checks will be done to monitor water quality.

“There will be jetties in one part of the township where you can take boat rides to your friends’ homes,” said Gamuda Bhd deputy group managing director Mohammed Rashdan Mohd Yusof at the gallery’s opening ceremony.

Priced from RM680,000 onwards, the target completion date for the township is 2038. However, the 20.23ha Discovery Park, which will offer sports facilities as well as food and beverage eateries, will be fully opened by 2020. The first phase of terrace houses will be ready by 2021.

A vintage tram system has been planned for the central business district and shuttle buses will connect the township to the airport and Putrajaya Sentral Station.

A total of 3,000 units of this type of housing will be built within the township.
