Our talent pool is one of the most crucial ingredients that have enabled Gamuda to make contributions to the nation.

“We have and always will continue to champion the cause of building a capable, competent and dynamic workforce amongst youths,” Gamuda’s Independent Non-Executive Chairman YBhg Dato’ Mohammed Hussein highlighted.

In line with UNSDG Goal 4, Gamuda has always been spearheading this scholarship programme to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The annual Scholarship Award ceremony was held in August 2019 where talented young Malaysians were provided opportunities to acquire knowledge, and develop their true potential.

This year, a total of 34 students who achieved outstanding academic results were awarded full scholarships to pursue civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, quantity and building surveying, architecture, computer science and real estate studies at leading public and private universities.

About 77% of candidates this year chose to pursue engineering courses compared to 65% in 2018 and 2017.

“Leadership skills and work ethics are important because the present and future generation of graduates will have to manage a lot of interdependencies in life and work, to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently,” YBhg Dato’ Mohammed Hussein said.

Since 1996, Gamuda has invested over RM41.6 million and awarded 410 scholarships to outstanding Malaysian students to fulfill their dreams and change their lives for the better, positively impacting their families and society.
