HIGHWAYS & EXPRESSWAYS
As a pioneer in constructing urban highways, projects by Gamuda such as the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), the Shah Alam Expressway, the Kerinchi and Penchala Link (SPRINT) have all created an immense catalyst in urbanising the Klang Valley serving over two million commuters daily. The highway projects effectively connects the south west and east of Klang Valley to the Kuala Lumpur city and creates a gateway to the south of Selangor, linking the West port for greater industrialisation.
These highways provides faster connectivity and contributes to the growth of vibrant townships such as Puchong, Desa Park City, Mon’t Kiara, Bandar Botanic and Kota Kemuning, resulting in an increase in property value and spur new developments. The increase in population and economic growth have also led to the introduction of new public transportation such as the Light Rail Transit (LRT), the Bus Rail Transit (BRT) and the Mass Rail Transit (MRT) to serve these corridors.
Beyond the shores of Malaysia, the Panagarh-Palsit and Durgapur Expressways in India and the Dukhan Highway in Qatar are efficiently impacting intra-city travel.
